Ever since seeing this church that first time on this mountainside, and once hearing Toby Mac’s song, “City On Our Knees,” I began thinking how much this applies to us. Realizing we are not quite the size of a city, but aware that we are a community of people wanting others to know Christ, it just compelled me all the more to want to think this way.
Some time ago, some people with an element of optimism and forethought of having a church family, began looking for a suitable place to situate a church in this area. They had experienced the storefront, the mobile home, and even a rented facility cumulatively for a period of time. Then, finally that day arrived where God made the necessary ingredients come together to acquire our present location. And as they say, the rest is history.
Today we are an obvious fixture on the skyline. Anyone, and I do mean anyone, can tell you where we are located. Anyone you talk to who has any familiarity with this area have seen the big red barn up on the hill. They may not know how to get to us, they may not know anything about us, but there’s no denying, they know we are there, because they have seen us!
And as some say, believing is seeing. We’re seen. In fact, you can hardly miss us.
Now the real mission begins. Help me to help others to know Whose we are, and who we are. Let’s do all we possibly can to bring them to the understanding, by showing them the Way.
Will you join me?
Hopefully we are a praying church – on our knees praying for each other and those in our community who are hurting and lost. I love your heart, Hank Melton!
